On our way...

Phil and I started packing late Thursday night. Just as we were finishing up, it started to rain. It continued to rain/storm ALL the way down to Florida!!
The girls were great travelers. Thanks GG for the great traveling finger paint!
It kept them very busy!

Fun..Flipflops..FLORIDA!!

We arrived to our resort on Saturday afternoon. It was still overcast and there were occasional rain storms, but we were all excited to be there! We squeezed in a few fun activities between the wet weather. Phil and Maddie found this Mr. Potato Head shop with every accessory you could think of! I'm not sure who enjoyed it more... :)

Ahhh...The golden arches!
The weather man said the rest of the week was going to be sunny and in the 80's so we got a good night sleep on Monday night and got ready for a busy week!

Hollywood Studio's (MGM)

It finally looked like the weather was going to cooperate so we headed out to Disney's Hollywood studios early Tuesday morning.
Maddie and Robby enjoy the shuttle from our resort to the park!
Waiting patiently for the Playhouse Disney show to start!
Handy Manny (for those of you who aren't up on your playhouse Disney shows :) was just one of the programs highlighted during this really cute show.
Next we got in line to see Beauty and the Beast. We had really good seats! Emma sang along the whole time, it's her favorite Disney movie!
This was the face I got when I asked Maddie if she wanted to go on the Tower of Terror with Coley and Robby!

MGM Part 2

We all enjoyed the Muppet's 3D show! The girls spending some time with Mickey!
We spent some time in the afternoon seeing all of their favorite Playhouse Disney characters. We were really surprised at how well they did around them. They weren't scared at all, which made this part of the trip a lot of fun!!!
I did a little research before we left for this trip, and found out that you can take a cooler into the parks as long as it's a certain size. We took full advantage of this and packed lunches everyday. I would suggest this to everyone, it saved us so much time and money!!
There were the occasional "treats" (if you can call it that). Phil found huge turkey leg's for sale, and was very excited to have such a manly snack! :)
He took Maddie to the bathroom, and I found Emma sneaking a quick bite while he wasn't around! :)

Part of the Show...

Here is the best story of our trip!! Towards the end of the day we (the whole family) decided to go on one last ride together. It was a kind of behind the scenes of movies theme. We got in line and waited, and waited. We were next to get on the tour/ride when the nice lady at the gate told us we would have to wait 10 min. and go with the next group. The girls were getting antsy, and one was hungry (any guesses on who??), so my parents volunteered to skip the ride and take the girls back to the resort. This seemed like a great idea, we would do this last ride and then catch the shuttle back in time for dinner! Well, not 2 minutes after my parents left with the girls we (Nicole, Rob, Phil and I) were asked if we would like to be part of the stunt show at the beginning of the ride. Phil and I were a little apprehensive at first, but we're easily persuaded. So we go back stage and are told to get into these rain suits, no other details. All of a sudden I think, oh man no one is here to watch this....I quick call my dad, but no answer...they were already on their way out of the park. So I ask the lady in charge if she'll take pictures for us, but she can't (some rules/regulations). She can only take one of before and after the stunt. So here we are about to have our big debut and no is out there to watch us...
It ends up that we are actors in a movie about a battleship. The point of this part of the ride was to show everyone how they shoot different scenes with different effects and then put them together to make a movie!
Phil is the captain and gets drenched with a ridiculous amount of water, which was the funniest part. I'm on the boat looking out for enemy planes, and Nicole and Rob are cleaning the deck of the boat. When all of a sudden we get attacked from above, so long story short we had to pretend to be under attack while their are gun shots and water everywhere (We all basically just got soaked). At the end the audience that was there got to see each our different shots put into a mini movie. We didn't even get to see the movie, can you believe it! :(
So here are the three pictures I have to prove that we were chosen to be involved in a Disney attraction! :)
Before...
After...
Needless to say my parents were pretty disappointed they missed it, and secretly I'm glad we don't' have any pictures of me "acting".

Typhoon Lagoon

On Wednesday we went to one of the Disney water parks. Again, another perfect day to be outside, especially playing in the water!
We discovered this kiddie slide about halfway thru the day(which was a good thing b/c we spent the rest of the afternoon here!). They felt pretty cool too, that they had their own slide to ride!

There was also a HUGE wave pool. Here my dad, Rob, and Phil are waiting for the next big Kahuna! :)

Disney's Magic Kingdom

We went to the Magic Kingdom on Thursday. It was sunny and hot, but we didn't mind!!
So...for some reason I can't get these pictures turned around, sorry but I just couldn't leave them out!
The first thing we did was get in line to see the princesses! After all that IS why we came! :)
It was better than I even expected. They spent so much time with the girls, talking, asking them questions, and taking pictures! The girls loved every minute!
Maddie getting one last hug in with her favorite princess, Cinderella.
Belle is Emma's favorite princess, so we spent a little extra time here. We also spent some time with Sleeping Beauty.
Ok..here's the real picture I couldn't leave out! Again, it's worth tilting your head to get the full effect! :)
I love being the one that does the blogging... Otherwise you would all miss out on great pics like this! :)
There are more pictures of our trip if you click on older posts..

Disney's Magic Kingdom

Turkey legs were for sale everywhere...which Phil enjoyed...everywhere :)

Waiting for the afternoon parade

This was one of the few rides that we all rode together. The line went really quick, and even Maddie enjoyed herself! Double Bounus!! Nana and Bampa took the girls to get their face painted before we settled into our spot for the Spectromagic Parade, and fireworks!

Fun in the Sun!!

On our last full day in Florida (Friday) we spent our time soaking up the sun. The resort we stayed at had a beautiful pool area for adults and kids! The girls enjoyed the little splash park
Emma and Uncle Robby (aka the lizard catcher) spent some quality time together trying to catch one of the many little lizards that were out enjoying the sun too! :) Rob got a hold of one but he shed his tail and got away...
This was the view from our porch!

We were sad to leave, but ready to go head up to North Carolina to visit Granny and Pops!
Thanks Mom and Dad for planning such a fun family vacation!!!
