Radafest @ Torch Lake

Radafest defined.... Family, Food, Fun, and Sun!

Each year we(my dad's side of the family, the Radabaugh's) gather at my Aunt and Uncle's adorable cottage on Torch Lake. This is always bitter sweet. We look forward to this weekend all summer, but when it finally arrives we know that summer is almost over, and fall is just around the corner! Never the less, we soak up all that summer, and the lake, have to offer!

This year we held our first annual Radafest tshirt contest.
Phil and I played our entry off of the Master Card commercials, and chose a picture of my Grandpa Herbie for the front. My Aunt had a very official panel of judges, and after an extra tie breaking judge had to be brought in..we came out with this years winning design! Thanks again Aunt Lori for organizing the contest, it was a lot of fun!! :)

Now that the girls are a little older, and more independent in the water, we decided to spend an afternoon at the sand bar. Boats come from all over the lake and anchor to this hot spot! There's even a pontoon boat that sells burgers and drinks!

This isn't our dog, but I thought it was hilarious!! I had to share it! :)
Besides Frisbee, this is one of the popular scenes at the sand bar. Everyone anchors there rafts, or blow up mattresses in our case, and just soaks up the sun!
I love this picture! Not only does it show off the amazing colors of the lake, but it also showcases my dad's new butterfly tattoo! :) Compliments of the girls around 7:00am while he was still sleeping!!! Emma enjoyed her first full can of Diet Coke! Uncle Robby was so proud!!

Another tradition at Torch Lake is the "dive!" My Uncle takes the boat out until it's about 200 ft. deep, and everyone jumps off the back. Emma and I initially just went along for the ride, but of course we ended up in the water!

The sun was hot, and the water was refreshing...perfect combination!

Maddie made friends with KiKi the cat, who supposedly has a near by owner, but she stopped by each night for a little affection from the girls!

Maddie modeling the winning tshirt! We'll see if we can defend next year!!

There is always at least one trip out on the tubes!
One more pic of my dads tattoo, just because it makes me laugh! :)

More Pentwater Pics

This is my absolute favorite house on the channel. We walked by it everyday on the way to the beach! I love everything about it... I can dream right???Maddie was a little to comfortable on the pier for me.
This is what dad's are for! YIKES!
Maddie Cakes working the marshmallows
(or "Marshies", as she referred to them!)
My brother-in-law, Rob, can put away the DC!! This pyramid was only 2 days old! We were there for 4! :)

Pentwater, MI

A few weeks ago my family met up in Pentwater, which is a cute little town on Lake Michigan. We enjoyed a long weekend full of sunshine and fun!The girls really got into playing in the sand this year! Which made my dad's weekend! He's the ultimate sand castle builder. :)
A few family members (not naming any names...) have requested more pics of us on the blog! :)

Our Devotion???

OR...

Do to the current fiasco in Green Bay, Phil and I have been discussing where our true devotions lie. Do we love the GB Packers, or do we love Brett Favre? This wasn't an easy question to answer.
We have ties to Wisconsin. Family, fellow cheese heads. Jennings, a former WMU football player! But Brett is what made watching GB fun (not to mention..easy on the eyes..right ladies :)!
So since we can't have the happy marriage between the Packers and Favre that we hoped for, it is with mixed emotions, that I announce that we are sticking with Brett! Where am I going to find a pink Favre Jets jersey?? :)
I'm not saying we're stocking up on the Jet's gear (yet), or looking into tickets. I'm just sayin' we'll be watching more NY Jets games then ever before (in fact, probably for the first time).
I'm sure a GB game or two will enter into our living room, just to "check in" on Rogers, and see how he's holding up. We still cherish the times we've had at Lambeau Field, and wish the Packers the best. But for now....GO JETS!!
