{Frederik Meijer Gardens}

The girls are on Spring Break this week, and I wanted to do something special with them. Wednesday we headed up to Grand Rapids along with my mom, grandma, and sister Nicole to see the butterflies at the Meijer Gardens.

On the way to the butterflies we passed this amazing wreath. It's made completely out of 'Chicks & Hen's'...one of my favorite little (and quickly multiplying) plants!! I love it and want to try and make one... but I'm not sure my thumb is green enough for this kind of project! :) This picture is dedicated to "Flower" the famous mother Meerkat...May she rest in peace!!
(If you haven't seen Meerkat Manor on Animal Planet...you've been deprived of excellent television! :) And you should check it out!!! :) Our little butterflies...and Nana the Caterpillar! :) The flower's were amazing.... I had fun playing with my camera...

There were a few of these enormous blue butterflies, and they hardly ever landed. But Emma spotted one resting on the window.There were so many butterflies this year!!! They were fluttering all around us, which made it much more exciting than in years past.

We all had to do the "butterfly shake off" as we left the exhibit!
In years past, it's been to cold to go outside and explore the other parts of the Garden. But Wednesday was beautiful, and the girls enjoyed this part of the trip the most!!!
Floating our boats around the "Great Lakes"

This sun dial was pretty cool! You stand in the box that indicates the current month and then put your arms out and it will tell you the approximate time. It was about 2:25 when we did it. It worked....imagine that! :)
Auntie Coley... The Moss Beaver...which the girls thought was hilarious!!
The Da Vinci Horse...and the Kilian girls
Preparing to roll down the hill...
And there they go...Emma forgot to close her mouth and ended up with half the hill in her mouth....GROSS!!! And Maddie....well we're still picking grass etc...out of her hair!! :) I think the hill ended up being bigger and more steep than we thought!
GG and the girls on the way out! Thanks for a fun day GG and Nana!!! :)

Had a GREAT time (as I always do with ALL my girls.) Couldn't of asked for a more beautiful day. Love the butterflies.

Love Nana
