All in a night's work

Phil and my dad set tonight aside to start working on the swing set for our backyard. I was amazed at what was accomplished in just 5 short hours! :) But then again...it's Phil and my dad...I guess I shouldn't be that surprised!!!

The plans.
The materials
The help (and her over sized tool belt!)
The measurements and cuts
Emma hammering in the first nail! :)
The foreman..
Just double checkin'
The pencil makes it official! :)
The progress...
Safety first here at the Kilian's..even when using the pencil! :)
Starting to look like a swing set....
Not bad for the first night..
Just to make sure they work...Yes..that's my dad and Phil... together...on the swings...at 10:00 at night! :)
Thanks so much for all your help dad!!! Tonight was especially fun for me. So many things reminded me of being a little girl. I can remember you always having sketches and plans drawn out on graph paper (you apparently have an endless supply!) laying around the counters, that only you could make sense of! And those crazy pencils that you always carry around on projects...those make me laugh! :) And when I smell fresh cut wood, and hear the sounds of the saw I ALWAYS think of you!! And the faces you make while you work are priceless, especially while you're working the saw! :) You are an amazing craftsman, and more importantly an amazing dad and "Bampa"!!! I Love You!!

2nd tooth...OUT!!!

Emma lost wiggly tooth no. 2 last week. So both middle bottom teeth are MIA!!! It' so fun to watch her try and eat corn on cob..and apples! :)

Veggie Garden...Update

Zucchini and Summer Squash popping up :)
We haven't done any weeding yet, because we're not really sure what is a plant and what's a weed.We tried green beans again this year...minus the small litter of bunnies in the back yard. So far..they look promising! :) Yeah!!
And we'll have plenty of tomato's, and peppers!

So Far...So Good...

Some of you might remember posts from last summer. My mom and I planted this garden...and I am proud to say that I kept it ALIVE!!! Here is a picture of it this year. I only lost one plant during the winter (although it was my favorite) hopefully I can get another Endless Summer Hydrangea soon! :)
This little guy can be found taking his afternoon siesta in our garden. Although his location changes often! :) Usually after a late night of partying with the other gnomes around the "hood". Woot Woot!!!
My Cone flowers are just about ready to bloom...I'm so excited!!!
This wonderful flower loves the sun, and doesn't require water.
That's my kind of flower!!!
Since we've lived at this house we've moved these miniature Lilac bushes twice. This was the first year they've bloomed...and they smelled wonderful!!
We have two hummingbirds that frequent the sweet sugar water that we hang outside. So I bought this hanging basket at Schurings Greenhouse(aka..Miss Sue's Shop). I think they come more often because of it, and it's so pretty...I love it!!
We also have these strang mushrooms popping up this year. Can you tell I've been spending sometime in the outdoor/garden center at Target! :)

Garden time!!

Ready and waiting.... The girls were so excited to help plant the seeds

I had to include this picture I got of the girls and our neighbor Mr. Andy. They were just chatting it up...Wilson style! :)

Happy Memorial Day!

We met up with Eli and Lukas for the annual Memorial Day Parade! I absolutely love watching the four of them together!! :) especially...these two! :)

Emma's Young Fives Graduation!

Last fall we decided to enroll Emma in Young Fives(at Heritage Christian), and we haven't regretted it for a second. Having this extra year before Kindergarten has been good for her!
Emma's cute little class! :) It's official! :)
So cute with her little toothless grin! :)
Oh...little side note....when we got home that afternoon, and were changing into play clothes, we realized that Emma had worn her dress backwards the whole day. She thought that was pretty funny! :) The 3 girls. Natalie, Emma and Madison! It has been so fun to watch Emma make great friendships this year that will carry over into kindergarten!
Emma and her wonderful teacher Mrs. Burlison!!!

We feel so blessed to be able to send Emma to this school!! And we are thankful for all the sacrifices that the teachers and staff make to serve and teach our children! What great role models!! Thank You!!!
