Max...Our New Cat

My Aunt and Uncle graciously gave us our new pet. He came to my Aunt's office, long story short he and their other cat didn't hit it off, so it was in need of a good home. Phil, being the animal lover he is (maybe a new tid bit of info for some of you..he'll deny it, but he is :) decided we needed to have this cat be part of our family.
After Phil explained that we could NOT name a boy cat Genevieve or Princess Annalise
Emma decided on Max, from one of her favorite books Where the Wild Things Are (actually I think it was one of the only books she could think of that had a male character).
His full name is Max, King of the wild things :)

He is a great cat. Mostly hangs out on our bed, but loves to have us pet him!!! He's still getting familiar with the house, Maddie's high pitched voice, etc... :) We love him, and are so thankful that we were able to help him and my Aunt & Uncle out!

Thanks Again Aunt Shelley& Uncle Lew!!!

The Trimmings

The girls really enjoyed decorating the tree this year. It was fun for Phil and I to watch them, and remember back to when we were little. I always looked forward to helping my parents put the ornaments on the tree. As a tradition, the girls get to choose an ornament every year that represents what they have accomplished, or enjoyed over the year. This year Emma chose a ballerina (she took dance over the summer) and Maddie chose Dora dressed like a ballerina (She would watch Dora all day, everyday, if we let her...But who wouldn't right... :)

The Hunt

The weekend after Thanksgiving we went on our annual hunt for the perfect Christmas tree.
We ended up at Blake farms, a tree farm owned by a man Phil works with. All the trees were really nice, so it was hard to settle on just one!

The newlyweds fell in love with this tree...As you can see! :)

Lions/Packers Game

Phil and I scored tickets to the Lions game on Thanksgiving Day!
Ironically...they were playing the Packers, our favorite team. :)
For the record, I wore my Packer gear with pride!!! I wasn't able
to find a pink Favre jersey for this game, but I'm not giving up on my search!!
I couldn't pass up a picture of Favre on the big screen! By the way...The good guys won!! :)

Preschool Thanksgiving Feast

Emma's class had a Thanksgiving Feast the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.
Each child brought in a favorite bite size snack to share with the class.
Emma wanted to share pickles, which we thought was quite unique. :)
Surprisingly, most of the kids did a great job trying all the different snacks!
Our Pilgrim during prayer
The hats were SO cute!

Happy Halloween

October has been a crazy month here at the Kilian's!!
We have been busy every weekend.
We are looking forward to a few uneventful weekends before the holiday's take over! :)
So.. Here is a peek into what we've been up to this past month. We hope you all had a fun October!
Emma and Maddie were both ladybugs this year.
Notice Maddie's shoes....Yes we did find the infamous red shoes
from my sisters wedding! :) And they worked very well with the outfit!

These are some of the kidos from our small group.

We caught up with the cousins at the "trunk or treat"

Phil and Liz's little girl, Grace, was so cute! She wasn't interested in slowing down for this picture with the girls. She's learned to walk, and was more interested in checking everything out! :)

Sattler's Fall Party

The 3rd weekend of October Phil and some friends headed
north to a men's retreat at Camp Barakel.
They have been looking forward to going and hearing Tom Harmon preach for quite a while.
He wouldn't take our camera (can you believe it :) so I have no pictures to document this experience. We have only stories, one in particular that includes Wes, a bike, a member of the Goodrich family(we won't name names :), and a small flesh wound.
Needless to say the guys had a great time together just being outdoors, and away from the stress of work!
The 4th weekend of October our friends Kenny & Crystal Sattler had their annual fall party.
Everyone looks forward to good food, a HUGE leaf pile, and my personal favorite...
spiced cider...Yum!!
Emma and Izzy weren't quite sure about jumping in the leaf pile! (At first anyway :)
It didn't take long to figure out the fun!

Phil was in charge of fryin' up Crystal's homemade doughnutsEmma and her friends from church, Addi & Isabel
Getting a good running start!
